The New iPod nanos

Okay, so I’ve gone to the Apple Store and checked these little devices out.  Take note that I am an iPod touch user, so I find the clickwheel rather awkward.  For example, for iPod nano and iPod classic users, the new cover flow feature may seem second nature.  But, when used to the touch screen of the iPod touch, it becomes more than menial as we try to get used to the clickwheel for browsing through something we used to just flick through.  However, the nanos have stayed mostly the same, so I can’t provide many new details.

Well, the colors do look good.

In all, If I didn’t have an iPod touch, I’d want a nano.  I’d prefer an iPhone, though.

I’m Back

I am sorry about the leave from blogging, but school, college applications, and other things have caught up to me in the past few weeks.  At this point, I’m going to make an attempt to get into a cycle of posting on this blog on a daily basis.  Anyways, I have a few updates for you:

MusicHostr.com Is In Development

Yes, it is finally being worked on again.  MusicHostr.com has been delayed for far too long, so I decided to kick it back into development.  The current version on the site will be deleted (it was too heavily flawed anyways).  The new version will implement social networking features and make the code more efficient.  There should also be fewer bugs in the next version of MusicHostr.com  Right now, I am in the process of building the models for the new version.  This should finally provide the solution that I, as a composer, have been seeking.

Other Projects

There are other projects I am working on.  I am still trying to get ProviasDigital.com completed and progress on that is moving slowly.  Meanwhile, I am still working on some projects for Garritan Corp, one of which is nearing completion.  I have even been assigned a project by my school to build in django.  Yet, the most interesting announcement is that I am beginning a project in which I hope to get it to the point where it passes the Turing Test.  This should be an interesting experience.

Also, if anyone has any questions pertaining to Python, django, music, or etc., you can contact me easily.  I have multiple forms of contact listed on my Contact page (to the right).

I just have to post something, so here you go:

Breaking a saxophone is much easier than one would expect.  It is costly to repair but it can happen on complete accident.  So far, I have broken a couple.  Let me tell you how:

LHC is operational!

It’s an exciting day for everyone around the world as CERN’s Large Hadron Collider has become operational.  The world is not gone, so that means they have not created any stable black holes (much to the demise of many doomsayers).  Now to wait for news on the topics of the Higgs Boson, dark matter, the big bang, quark gluon plasmas, muons, and any other interesting particles and other quantum quirks (and quarks) they discover.

Science works.

Look up, down, top, then bottom.  Do you find quarks strange or charming?

I just thought I might as well show you guys what ProviasDigital is looking like.  I am currently working on the new design.  Most of the design elements are done, except for the display of the comments, of course.  All comments are welcome!

I tend to like the minimal, clean white designs.

Django 1.0 Released!

Finally, after a good wait, 1.0 is released!  This version is recommended for use in a production environment, unlike the previous release candidates and betas.

What does this mean to the developer, though?

Simple, another upgrade.  Almost everything is the same as the last version.  The only big news is that it should now be stable.  Just keep coding as you were and perform the upgrade when you have time.
